The only way to get cheaper transport is to get a resort closer to the airport. $180 isn’t really that much though

the price is very reasonable for a transfer…… – this is the Maldives!
If you are wanting to bring down the cost, then you need to consider an island perhaps closer to the airport island of Hulhule.
The islands arrange the transfers themselves, so there is no other way to get to the islands cheaper yourself. It is not like other destinations…
If the room costs are reasonable, then it is worth considering the island.

Well that’s not too much when you compare it with the other places..The option to have some private arrangements will be the best otherwise you can choose a hotel near to your destination.
Nevertheless, when you are on to tourist places you can spend that much..

Although it is expensive but if there is no alternative, you will have to pay the price if you insist on staying on Helengali Island Hotel. Why not consider other options available, maybe getting a trisaw or renting bicycles, perhaps…ya?

This is Maldives, the price is very reasonable for a transfer..
