Southbound Piccadilly Line from Russell Square to Green Park.
Southbound Victoria Line from Green Park to Victoria (it’s the next stop!)
    Walk to the main-line station
Gatwick Express from Victoria direct to the Airport.

forget about a cab all the way, it’s a fairly long distance and would cost a fortune … there’s two ways to go

    1. take the underground to Victoria and then the Gatwick Express train to the airport … however Russell Square is on the Piccadilly line underground which does not go to Victoria, so you would need to get to either Kings Cross, Euston or Warren Street stations which are on the Victoria line … all these stations are not far from Russell Square, have a look on the tube map

    2. the easier option would be to get a First Capital Connect train from St Pancras direct to Gatwick Airport

you could either catch a bus (the number 91) from Russell Square to St Pancras or, if you’ve got much luggage with you, you could get a cab for the short journey

The train is the easiest/quickest – Gatwick Express from Victoria. Cabs in this case may take longer and cost more.

As per Fiona’s answer. It’s the best route. Yourlooking at about £20 by tube. £60 by cab/taxi.

There are direct trains from St Pancras International station to Gatwick station, the journey takes about 58 mins. The normal single fare is £8.90.

The Gatwick Express train from Victoria to Gatwick station takes about 30 mins (this is a non-stop service) and the normal single fare is £16.90.

Try http://www.transportdirect.info for times, fares, etc.

    Taxi fare £50 plus.
