Yes, from what I’ve learned, facilitated diffusion is under passive transport, cuz it doesn’t require energy, only it is facilitated by carrier protein down the concentration gradient

Nonono it’s still used of course.. But the other passive proteins for channel ones are used mainly for bigger molecules..
Ones that can’t really fit through the tiny spaces of the phospholipids bilayer. It’s still passive though, just matters on the size.

ty this help me in science

k thanks

not from what ive learned. It’s a bit confusing how all youtube videos show passive, active and facilitated as THE THREE WAYS. There are more like 5: 1.)passive diffusion 2.) channels and pores 3.) facilitated diffusion 4.) active primary and 5.)active secondary. Passive diffusion is the only one that does NOT require a protein carrier. only the active transports move UP a gradient, and primary is based on energy used (light, ATP, ect.) and secondary is ion gradient based. hope this helps!!

so basically passive transport only requires the channel proteins, and the phospholipid bilayer is not used?

solute: aufgelöste Stoffe

more concentration moving to less concentration

osmosis.
the best passive transport to me..
January 13th, 2010 at 4:41 pm
solute.. basically its like concentraition. because its passive, eg diffusion, so the solutes diffuse through teh cell membrane from aprts where there is high concentration to parts where it is low. this is a passive process because it is movign down the concentration gradient.Solutes are jus like salt molecules ay i think, hope it helps
January 13th, 2010 at 5:04 pm
…more solute
January 13th, 2010 at 5:42 pm
A solute is a substance (usually in lesser] amount) dissolved in another substance
January 13th, 2010 at 6:20 pm
yeah that’s what i thought
January 13th, 2010 at 6:40 pm
This is essentially simple diffusion.
January 13th, 2010 at 7:02 pm
passive transport.
-simple diffusion.
-facilitated diffusion.
-osmosis.

im from germany can sb tell me whats the word at 0:17 and its meaning?
naturally diffuse from the side with more …..
to the side with less…… ..?
January 13th, 2010 at 7:51 pm
thank u sooo much
it’s easier to understand it from this video
January 13th, 2010 at 8:29 pm
Passaive transport is triggered by concentration gradient and could be :
- Simple diffusion .
- Facilitated diffusion by channel proteins and carrier proteins .
Thanks
